Yoku Moku’s Latest Kyoto Matcha Sweets Only at Tokyo Station
Yoku Moku’s Limited-Edition Matcha Sweets at Tokyo Station – A Perfect Blend of Butter and Uji Green Tea
Yoku Moku, the beloved Tokyo confectionery known for its rich, buttery Cigare cookies, is embracing a distinctly Japanese twist—Uji matcha. At its newly renovated Tokyo Station store, the brand introduces a series of elegant green tea sweets, blending Western pastry craftsmanship with traditional Japanese flavors. It’s a matcha experience not to be missed.
Yoku Moku Embraces a Japanese Twist
Founded in 1969, Yoku Moku became a household name in Japan thanks to its signature buttery “Cigare” cookies, inspired by European sweets. While the brand originally aimed to bring Western flavors to Japan, it’s now reimagining its offerings with Japanese tastes in mind—starting with matcha.
To create a matcha flavor worthy of its rich confections, Yoku Moku partnered with Uji-based tea purveyor Hotta Katsutaro Shoten. Together, they developed a custom blend using first-harvest leaves aged for a year, achieving a smooth, deep taste that balances perfectly with Yoku Moku’s signature buttery sweets.
