Opened in 1999, SHIBUYA TSUTAYA has become a cultural landmark renowned for its extensive collection of books, music, and movies available for rental and purchase. Located right before the iconic Shibuya Crossing, it has long been a popular meeting point and a symbol of Shibuya’s vibrant energy.
The recent renovations have transformed SHIBUYA TSUTAYA, expanding its offerings and enhancing its facilities to meet the evolving needs of its visitors. The revamped space spans multiple floors, each designed with a unique theme, including state-of-the-art studios, lounges, cafes, and specialized shops, creating an immersive experience for everyone.
The new facility focuses on the theme “Create the world with what you love,” emphasizing intellectual properties (IPs) such as manga, characters, and design.

The 3rd and 4th floors of SHIBUYA TSUTAYA house the SHARE LOUNGE, a popular TSUTAYA spinoff designed for professionals seeking co-working or casual meeting spaces, as well as visitors looking for a quiet place to unwind.
Open from 8 AM to 11 PM, this time-based café space requires no registration and offers unlimited soft drinks, snacks, frozen foods, and ice cream, with an optional alcohol plan. It has 240 seats of different varieties.
These floors boast views of the Shibuya Crossing, making them ideal for a workcation. With English guidance available, the SHARE LOUNGE combines the relaxed atmosphere of a café with the functionality of a co-working space.

Even better, it will be less crowded, making it easier to take the perfect picture to remember this awesome trip.
