Ranma 1/2 (らんま1/2) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi. It was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1987 to 1996, and adopted into anime series broadcasted from 1989 to 1992.
The story revolves around a teenaged martial artist Ranma Saotome who has the ability of gender-swapping when getting wet, becoming a girl when exposed to cold water, and changing back into a boy when exposed to hot water. The romantic comedy features Ranma, his fiance Akane, and a cast of unique characters.
In 2024, Ranma 1/2 was made into a completely new anime series, and broadcasting and streaming from October. To commemorate the broadcast of the completely new anime version of Rumiko Takahashi’s masterpiece, a fun and lively Ranma 1/2 themed cafe will open in three cities in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.
TV Anime Ranma 1/2 Cafe (TVアニメ「らんま1/2」CAFE) features original illustrations of characters dressed in traditional Japanese clothing, and the retro cafe menu with a unique twist inspired by characters and their colours.
In addition, limited edition merchandise and special gifts using original illustrations drawn for the cafe will be available. Enjoy the theme cafe while tasting the elaborate menu in a space filled with the world of unique characters from Ranma 1/2!
