ONE PIECE is one of the most famous and popular anime and manga series worldwide, captivating audiences in Japan and internationally. Written by Eiichiro Oda, the manga first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997 and has sold over 500 million copies, earning the Guinness World Record for the best-selling manga in history. The anime started in 1999, followed by its first film in 2000. With 15 movies released so far, the franchise is still a strong favorite
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the ONE PIECE anime, and over the years, One Piece has been featured in thousands of limited-time collaborations, from exclusive collections to themed restaurants. But today, I want to introduce you to a unique and special place that no One Piece fan should miss: a themed gym!
That’s right—ONE PIECE FITNESS BragMen is a fitness gym inspired by the world of One Piece. The name comes from the Brag Men book (The Forgotten Men in English), which describes adventure tales from the Grand Line. This book first appears in Volume 13, Chapter 115 of the manga, when the Straw Hats are headed to Little Garden. Nami has a copy of the book written by the explorer Louis Arnote.
ONE PIECE FITNESS BragMen is not another temporary pop-up; it’s here to stay! No matter when you visit Japan, make sure to add this must-see destination to your list. You won’t want to miss out on this incredible experience!
ONE PIECE FITNESS BragMen
Are you a fan of One Piece and have you dreamed more than once of becoming a pirate? Welcome to ONE PIECE FITNESS BragMen! As soon as you step into the gym, your dream will come true, as you’ll instantly become a pirate during the time you’re there.
The gym space is decorated like a real pirate ship. When you enter, you’ll see the ship’s helm and a gigantic Log Pose. You’ll also find barrels, crates, chains, and even walls adorned with pages from the manga. However, the most striking feature is undoubtedly the column supported by Luffy’s hand in Gear 4 form.
One detail that I personally loved is that motivational quotes from the manga are scattered throughout the gym, some even in unexpected places, like on the ceiling above the barbell bench press machine.
And a funny plus, Franky has left his tiny red shorts on the ship. See if you can spot them!
But the One Piece theme goes beyond just decoration! Some of the gym machines and equipment are also themed! For example, there’s an eye-catching pull-down machine that symbolizes Whitebeard’s iconic mustache and the weight shaped like Buggy when he doesn’t have his full body.
Another highlight is the weighted garments that bears the mark of Shanks’ Red Haired Pirates, and one of my favorite elements: weight plates designed to look like Berry coins! Having original-designed weight plates is something that almost no gym has.
