The adorable white kitten character by Sanrio, Hello Kitty is one of the most famous characters in the history, loved by a wide range of fans from children to adults all over the world.
Hello Kitty was creates by the Japanese designer Yuko Shimizu in 1974, rapidly gaining popularity shortly after her debut, among children, teenagers and adults, subsequently achieving global success alongside Japan’s kawaii culture. 2024 is the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty, and various events are being planned for this special year, including the 50th anniversary exhibition.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty, a special cafe “Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Cafe” will open at 3 cities across Japan (Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya), featuring a lovely space based on red colour and overflowing with cuteness.
The cafe will offer a special menu with a range of cute and photo-worthy Hello Kitty themed dishes and drinks, including two-tiered afternoon tea, sandwich plate, pancake, parfait, and cold and hot drinks. In addition, original goods using newly drawn illustration will be sold at the cafe store.
