Traveling with kids in Japan can actually be quite challenging. Therefore, it’s essential to find places that quickly capture their attention and help them relax while allowing adults to enjoy the trip.
Today, as a mother of a two-year-old living in Tokyo, I’ll highlight some of the best places to visit with kids in Tokyo. These family-friendly spots provide fun for both children and adults, including famous destinations like Disneyland and Skytree, as well as hidden gems like Ariake Garden with Onsen.

1. Exploring around Tokyo Skytree Town
Tokyo Skytree Town (東京スカイツリータウン) is a modern commercial complex suitable for shopping, dining, and entertainment. This place is especially good for families because of its convenient accessibility and numerous entertainment for kids.
When traveling with kids, the distance between stations and attractions will be distressing for parents due to little ones’ impatience. Tokyo Skytree Town is directly connected to the Tokyo Skytree station, making it extremely convenient to reach, even on rainy days.
Most travelers come here to visit Tokyo Skytree, one of the most famous landmarks in Tokyo. But if you travel with kids, you can explore Skytree Town more. Besides Tokyo Skytree, I would recommend Sumida Aquarium and Chikyu no Niwa (ちきゅうのにわ) as well.
Tokyo Skytree
Tokyo Skytree (東京スカイツリー) is the tallest tower in Japan. It has two observatories that present extraordinary views of the city and the greater Tokyo area. Chikyuu No Niwa
A playground is a lifesaver for parents, especially during travel. Chikyu no Niwa (ちきゅうのにわ) is an indoor playground on the 5th floor of Tokyo Solamachi. This playground is designed for children from 0 to 12 years old to play.
The playground is divided into two areas: Baby Garden for babies and toddlers up to two years old and Kids Garden for bigger children up to 12 years old. While the kids are playing, you might have a little bit of time to shop around or just have some rest.
